Full Description
Gabions are engineered wire mesh containers, boxes, or baskets filled with rock materials designed to prevent soil erosion and effectively retain soil particles. These structures are commonly used in conjunction with geotextiles to reduce water velocities and recapture riverbed sediment in streams and waterways.

Flat gabions, specifically known as River Mattresses, are extensively employed in river courses where significant soil erosion affects large flat or sloped areas requiring protection against soil loss and scour. These solutions find primary application within the civil engineering industry, particularly in constructing effective roadway drainage systems.
Gabion Technical Parameters:
•Wire diameter: 2.0–3.9 mm (±0.05–0.07 mm tolerance)
•Minimum zinc coating: 215–275 g/m²
•Standard mesh sizes: 80×100 mm or 100×120 mm (+16%/-4% tolerance)
Standard Gabion Specifications:
Dimensions (L×W×H, meters) include 2×1×0.3 (0.6 m³), 3×1×0.3 (0.9 m³), 4×1×0.3 (1.2 m³), and 6×2×0.3 (3.60 m³), among others, with optional diaphragm reinforcements.
Primary Applications:
•Retaining wall constructions
•River and canal training works
•Erosion, scour, and roadway protection
•Bridge protection and hydraulic structures
•Dam, culvert, and coastal defense works
•Wall cladding and rockfall protection
•Comprehensive soil erosion protection measures
